ETL is like twinkies and cockroaches... it will be around a lot longer than any of us, never dying, always adapting. Batch ETL processing has been the de-facto standard for over 20 years for moving data from OLTP to OLAP databases, but now, with more and more analytic applications and data products requiring fresher data, some of our favorite tricks of the ETL trade have needed to adapt to the streaming world. In this talk, we will look at how the physics of data processing change in the real-time world and what are some of the best practices to address those changes.
